What to check when buying
The manufacturer or importer notifies food supplements to the German Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety no later than when first placing them on the market. Health claims are only allowed under the EU health claims regulation, and extracts can be novel foods.
If you buy directly in Brazil, you are the importer. When you buy from an importer in the EU, they take on most of the duties.
