What to check when buying
Açaí is not considered a novel food in the EU. Check for an unbroken frozen chain at -18 °C and for the control body number when the product is sold as organic.
If you buy directly in Brazil, you are the importer. When you buy from an importer in the EU, they take on most of the duties.

Wholesale açaí comes as frozen purée in bags or portion packs, as powder and as ready-to-serve sorbet for bowls and soft serve machines. Minimum orders range from a single case to a pallet, and most suppliers quote prices on request. Ask about pack sizes, minimum order, frozen shipping and the quantity from which delivery is free.
