What to check when buying
Mandatory information must appear on the pack in German, and drink cans need the German one-way deposit. Products of certain food-producing animals from Brazil (beef, poultry, eggs, honey, aquaculture) have been barred from import into the EU since 3 September 2026.
If you buy directly in Brazil, you are the importer. When you buy from an importer in the EU, they take on most of the duties.
