About the event
The Stuttgart Philharmonic under conductor Simone Menezes pairs music with the Amazon photographs of Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado, who died in 2025, shown on a large screen in the Beethovensaal of the Liederhalle. The centrepiece is Floresta do Amazonas by Heitor Villa-Lobos, together with an excerpt from Aguas da Amazonia by Philip Glass, in a project Menezes conceived with Salgado. The promoter is StuttgartKonzert, which sells tickets on its website.
